Because of Failure, I’m Not Afraid to Try
Several months ago, I wrote a post titled, Failure Is an Option. (If you didn’t get the chance to read it, click the link to take you there.) Little did I know when I wrote that post, failure was just on the horizon.
Sometimes God speaks to us about something to prepare us for upcoming circumstances. Yes, He loves us that much. He also knows that if we’re prepared, we can make it through the difficulties.
Failure is not fun. It triggers feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, and defeat. It also elicits the most unexpected reactions from others.
Yes, there are people who will enjoy our failure.
But as painful as it sounds, failure is one of those crazy things that allows God to refine us, purify us, and strengthen us for the journey ahead. So once we’ve made it safely through to the other side, we are more prepared to receive the plan God has especially for us.
A new adventure is right in front of me, and because of failure, I’m not afraid to try.
In fact, I hear something strong inside me saying, “Let’s just go for it!” Why? I’ve faced failure and survived. I’ve lived through the self-doubt and insults. I’ve emerged renewed and relieved.
And you can, too.
If you are facing failure today, take a word of encouragement from someone who’s seen the worst things failure can bring. You’re not letting yourself down. You’re not letting others down.
And you’re not letting God down.
You’re allowing yourself to submit to His plan, because you know that His plans for you are perfect even though it doesn’t seem that way at the moment. You know enough to trust Him, and trusting Him is enough.
